On September 9, 2022, the People's Committee (PC) of Can Tho city held a Technical Analysis Conference of the project \"Survey and assess competitiveness capacity of Can Tho City\u2019s departments, districts\u201d.<\/p>\n

Following the direction of the PC of Can Tho city, with the support and active coordination of all levels and branches in Can Tho city, the Can Tho city Institute for Socio - Economic Development Studies (CISED) has coordinated with the consulting unit to carry out the research to measure, assess, rank the DDCI Index in 2022. The research was carried out in 15 departments and 09 districts of Can Tho city.<\/p>\n

The conference\u2019s content revolved around the following issues: (1) Implementation Methodology; (2) The set of evaluation criteria of each DDCI component index; (3) Report on the results of analysis and assessment of competitiveness capacity of Can Tho city\u2019s departments, districts; (4) Experience sharing DDCI index of Bac Ninh province; (5) recommendations to improve DDCI index in the coming time; (6) directives of the Chairman of Can Tho city PC.<\/p>\n

The conference had the presence of Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Can Tho city PC; representatives of Departments; Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of the district PCs. Representative of the consulting unit: Dr. Tran Toan Thang, Director of Industry and Enterprise Economic Forecasting Department, National Centre for Socio-economic Information and Forecast, the Ministry of Planning and Investment \u2013 Project Leader; Dr. Nguyen Phuong Bac - Director of the Research Institute for Socio-Economic Development of Bac Ninh Province; and participation of media agencies.<\/p>\n

The conference contributed to clearly identifying the \"bottlenecks\" in improving the investment and business environment, and the quality of economic management in departments, agencies and localities. From there, there are some recommendations to improve the provincial competitiveness index (PCI) of Can Tho, removing obstructions as soon as possible to provide favorable conditions for businesses to develop and attract investment.<\/p>\n
