The \u201cWomen\u2019s Economic Empowerment through Agriculture Value Chain Enhancement (WEAVE)\u201d project <\/span>(Vietnamese name: \u201cN\u00e2ng cao V\u1ecb th\u1ebf kinh t\u1ebf c\u1ee7a ph\u1ee5 n\u1eef th\u00f4ng qua th\u00fac \u0111\u1ea9y chu\u1ed7i gi\u00e1 tr\u1ecb n\u00f4ng nghi\u1ec7p (WEAVE)\u201d)<\/span><\/i> is funded by the Australian Government via the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and implemented by a consortium of three international non-governmental organizations \u2013 Care International in Vietnam (CVN), Oxfam in Vietnam , and Netherlands Development Organisation (SNV) in Vietnam between 2016 - 2020 with a total funding of AUD 3,498,502.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

WEAVE supports ethnic minority women\u2019s economic empowerment in banana (Bac Kan), pork and cinnamon (Lao Cai) value chains. This is achieved by promoting equality between women and men within households and producer groups, strengthening male and female producer skills and bargaining power, and working with businesses and government decision-makers to improve the policy environment to support producers. The project\u2019s goal is to enhance women\u2019s economic empowerment and social inclusion in agricultural value chains in rural Vietnam.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final evaluation was conducted by TDI Consulting in October and November 2020.The following are key objectives of the evaluation:<\/span><\/p>\n

(1) Assess the project relevance in terms of project approaches, project direction and project adaptiveness to the findings from the Midterm review.<\/span><\/p>\n

(2) Assess the project efficiency and effectiveness, including the results and achievements at different levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

(3) Evaluate the sustainability of results.<\/span><\/p>\n

(4) Assess the impacts that the project has created and contributed to at this stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

(5) Draw out lessons and recommendations to inform the relevant projects\/programs of consortium members, local partners and <\/span>broader project learning<\/span><\/i> for the agencies and DFAT in terms of operating models and ways of working\/approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n
